Experimental characterization of Hydrogen Peroxide Thruster

Summary

In the framework of CubeSat HTP Innovative Propulsion Systems (CHIPS) is funded by European Space Agency(ESA). Performed Qualification and Acceptance tests on the tanks such as Burst tests, Pressure Cycling tests, and Leak tests and verified according to ECSS Standards(ECSS-E-ST-32-02C Rev. 1 ). Also, Performed Performed Thrust Calibration and verified according to ECSS standards.

To investigate the advanced catalysts(Platinum -Alumina) for Hydrogen Peroxide decomposition in monopropellant thrusters. The exclusive test bench is set up to perform the drop tests to assess the performance of the different catalysts. Three types of catalysts of varying diameters (from 90 up to 400 microns) along with the different concentrations of Platinum and types of Aluminium Oxide are used, which were produced by distinctive methods.

Assembled valves, sensors, and tubing to CubeSat structure and Integrated it to propulsion system.
